Really?!

I was bitten (attacked, really) by a dog that was on leash when trail running 8 days ago. This picture is from day 3. It has been one long week, and I'm still struggling to wrap my brain around it all. This definitely falls in the unexpected events category for the summer. I've been dealing with alot of pain and I'll spare you the emotional details associated with being attacked by a dog.

I was inspired by this and joined team Improv(e) your Butt to focus on getting more excercise. I had no idea that my goal for getting healthier would be curtailed by a dog. I did, however, piece an improv doll quilt for our sweet friend's seventh birthday after I could move around again. She loved it and that made it all worthwhile.

My sister gave me a card addressed to "gimpy" and the inside said something to the effect, "that mama said there would be days like this." Really? O.K..... but such a huge chunk of the summer? Come on, now. It has to let up soon.

omg! I am stunned; and the dog was on a leash? I am almost afraid to ask what happened.

Holy shit! Pardon my swearing, but really? No infection, I hope.
If you want a pity party, you can come to my house.

That's so unfair, on many levels. Shame on that owner for not keeping a good hold on the dog. Love the little quilt. Hope you feel better soon.

I heard about your attack from Jacquie. I am so sorry for you. My husband was bitten by a dog while running a few years back....but not on a leash! What is happening with the dog? It obviously is not safe to be in public anywhere!!

How awful! I hope you feel better soon. I always try to be very careful with my dog as bad things can happen so quickly.

Wow! I would have thought that a dog on a leash would have been safer than one without one. I guess not. I'm glad you are ok, and hope the rest of your recovery goes quickly. The quilt is lovely.

I hope you reported it to the police. The dog should be put down. There is no excuse or an attack like that! Hoping you are doing well.

Did you make sure that dog had been kept up on its shots? I worked for a summer at the Michigan Dept. of Health where they did all the rabies tests for the state so I think about these things. Take care.
