Oooo La La!

Our first salad of the season! Spring lettuce, spinach, and arugula, sprinkled with dill. I was beaming when I picked this... BEAMING, I tell you. To me, there is nothing as gratifying as picking (and eating) the food that we have grown. The kids' excitement makes every minute of labor put into the garden worthwhile. They love eating the food we raise just as much as my husband and I do.
One of our sweet girls was checking out the garden's rewards. There. See her buzzing by the colander? Speaking of... it appears that one of our hives will have plenty of honey to share with us. We're busting with anticipation.
So... it's been kind of busy around here. I have plenty of things I want to tell you about, but it appears that blogging just doesn't fit into our Spring schedule. There's still plenty of planting to do... squashes, beans, cukes, tomatoes, basil, sunflowers, and pepppers, to be exact. I'll keep posting, but probably about as sporadically as I have been in the past month. Does anyone else feel like you could use some extra hours in a day?

What's your trick for keeping the lettuces to yourself (and not the bunnies?) We don't have anything to pick and eat yet-- jealous!

I wish for more daylight hours. I keep finding extra hours after dark-- which is why I'm jacked up on caffine and not feeling so great today!

Get cats! They love the bunnies!

Marilyn-- the greyhound negates the cats. However, if anyone is in the market for a theiving, incontinent, 6-am-rising dog, I'm selling cheap.

PS-- I put a question for you in the last post-- you must have been posting this one as I wrote it!

They look wonderful! Your garden list sounds familiar. We planted many of those things in the last 2 weeks. Yay for gardening season! :)
