Happy Mother's Day

These wild azaleas have been here since I arrived at this house almost 14 years ago. They knew me before I was a mother. They have been silent witnesses to my grief and my joys. They greeted me this mother's day, reminding me to embrace both tender souls I have been given to raise. Such miracles of life....

You know, I have never seen that color before. It's beautiful. Happy Mother's Day to you!

Hello, again! I have a quick question for you-- Adam and I are planning a whole 30 hours in Asheville at the end of the month to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday (they fall on the same day!) and I have it in my head that that is where you are? Can you throw out some places to eat/galleries/cool bars for adults? We are staying downtown, so walking distance is good. I'd esp. love to find somewhere to get some piece of inexpensive art or craft to bring home with us-- I'm into turned wood pieces at the moment...Thanks! (I wish it were for longer and I would insist on hanging out with you, who seems more and more like my mysterious doppleganger!)
